About Us

A few years ago, a group of friends from the same country of origin was moved by news about hunger, homeless, inequality, in Los Angeles, California where wealth and abundance are notorious. We were asking ourselves. How is possible that the resources can’t reach all the people in need? Clearly, it was not a matter of resources.

We decided to help people in need living in our streets, in our valleys, in our cities. We decided to create an alliance under the sun. We decided to use the Quechua name, coming from our country of origin, to name our organization: INTI (Sun) ALLIANCE.

Inti Alliance is a nonprofit corporation founded in 2016 whose purpose is to perform cultural, educational, and charitable activities and projects for the benefit of the public. All projects and campaigns supported by our organization have the following specific purposes:

  • Focus on helping and supporting children, youth, and elderly population in the neediest urban and rural areas.
  • Improve the skills and knowledge of young and adults workers, through effective education, to achieve a skilled workforce.
  • Improve and strengthen leadership skills in young and adult people to start campaigning for the neediest population.

In 2017, we had our first challenge. A natural disaster hit our country of origin PERU. The Niño climate event brought mudslides, rains, inundations, and death to many fellow countrymen. We received funds and distributed them to a Peruvian charity that used these funds to help the victims.

In 2018, we started taking action to raise more funds and approached the Van Nuys location of Hope of the Valley. At that time, the manager was gladly surprised to receive an offer to help. The target was the shower program. We took several weeks to bring an efficient solution: personal soaps and shampoos.

In 2019, we use our raised funds to get these cleaning products and approached a second organization helping the homeless with free showers. Homeless Health Care Los Angeles has a program named ReFresh Spot providing showers to the homeless people in Skid Row.

We support the homeless through these two organizations, providing the personal soaps and shampoos they need. So far, we have donated 33,500 soaps and 8,700 shampoos and served the same number of showers to the people.in need.
